For those who aren’t Trekkies, in almost every episode Capt Kirk beams down to a planet, usually with Spock, McCoy, and a “security officer” who traditionally wear red shirts. Without fail, the red shirt gets killed before the opening credits!!

Yay! My theme! I think I'd choose Seven, or The Doctor.
The Doctor. He's on a first-name basis with the Starfleet Database, can always maintain composure under intense pressure, and the inevitable confusion with that time traveling Gallifreyan from one universe away would make for delicious trolling opportunities for underperforming group members.

I think The Next Generation is probably a better place to start! The original series is great, but often feels quite dated.

Start with TOS. It's what started it all and was broke a lot of barriers for TV when it originally aired (like the first interracial kiss on tv!) Plus Kirk is a smokeshow and McCoy is just the best
TOS is a product of the 1960s. TNG is more coherent once out of the awkward first season. Some big cringy (and a bit racist) misses in that first season.
i think some of tos for context as others have said bc it broke many barriers but then to really binge id go with next gen!

i loved this theme!! ik many in the comments havent seen star trek but i really encourage everyone to do so, esp the original series bc it was one of the most progressive + trailblazing shows that paved sooo much from social issues to science fiction as a whole!
